Never Read

 You'll never read my poetry.

You'll never see through the window of my soul,
To the core of my thoughts, of my memories...
You'll never feel the weight of my love on
Cold winter nights when you can't sleep
And you're all alone.

You'll never know what I've felt all these years,
Or truly know what it means to be mine
Since the walls never opened,
The door never made, nor a window, nor crack
Has revealed a way in for me. Or for us.

There was never a chance.
There was never a future.
Never truth between us - just lies.

You will never read my poetry
Or truly understand what it's like
To be on this end of your narcisism,
To be the ghost that never was
Never lived.
