Ring

I said "I do" and put his ring on my finger,
I curled up beside him and slept in his bed,
I convinced my heart it wasn't in danger,
And laying there, I began to forget.
I gave myself over, and went all in,
Ignoring the cost or the danger to win
I bet all my cards that this would begin
And lost everything because of your sin.
I lost my soul searching for you in the night,
I broke my life trying desperately to fight
And all I was given is one pathetic knife
To end it all, and finally save my own life.
I curled up beside him and slept in his bed,
I fought so hard to begin to forget you
And I, I lost all ties to you and your life,
With his ring on my finger, there's no reason to fight.
