After

My eyes met yours through the hourglass,
And you smiled because you knew your damage,
You pulled me into the safety of your bubble
And whispered sweet poetry between my parted lips...
You told me stories of another lifetime
And laughed when I asked if you'd recognized me,
You know my footing is solid, my heartbeat unwavering...
You know my mind is steady though my eyes are questioning...
And you know I'll meet you, stab for bloody stab
Each time you rip me and make another scab...
You knew that once I'd taste you, there'd be no turning back,
You knew I'd never turn from what I really want...
And after tasting you, your fingertips to mine,
You know his sweet kiss will never rule my mind...
After tasting you, I'll never be the same...
His lips pressed against mine feel wrong and small and blue...
You knew when your eyes met me
That I'd play some big part...
But maybe it was just me
And my world will fall apart.
