Causing Trouble

Here you go again, you silly boy
You're causing trouble like before...
I told you to leave it alone,
Now look what you've done.
You never trust me to be right
Wouldn't go without a fight,
And now you expect me to fix it?
Not going to happen, dearie.
I'd rather you picked a home
And stayed in it.
Instead of moving every few months
And making me work overtime
To make sure you can sleep at night.
I'd rather you picked a mate
And kept with it.
Instead of giving your heart away
Every few years
And getting it broken by some stupid kid
Who doesn't understand what we do.
I'd rather you stayed in school
And did something great with your life,
So that one day I can look at you
And tell my mate "I made that happen".
I'd rather you keep staying sober,
Which you've been doing and is awesome,
Because the new you is great
And has so much to offer to everyone,
Plus the old you was a jackass.
So here you go again,
Causing trouble for me...
Making me use energy I don't have
In making sure you can close your eyes during the night,
And that nothing's gonna come in your room,
And pull you out of that bed,
Because, little one, in your state...
I'm the legend that made you this great.
